Imperial Octagon Green Carnival Glass Open Sugar c.1915

Imperial Glass Company "Octagon" (No. 505) open sugar bowl in coveted green, circa 1910-1920. The pressed glass blank erupts in vivid iridescence, purple and gold flames dancing across hobstars set in hexagonal panels above crisp arrow-and-feather motifs. Twin handles flank the body; sawtooth rim is fully intact, the underside graced with a many-pointed star. Approx. 4 in. tall, 6.5 in. handle-to-handle. Unmarked. Strong color, no chips or cracks; light wear consistent with age.
