Royal Doulton D4031 Persian Parrots Octagonal Tray c1910

Royal Doulton octagonal cabinet tray in the celebrated "Persian Parrots" series ware, pattern D4031, circa 1910-1920s. Bears the lion-atop-crown Burslem mark and decorator's number 10. Polychrome stylized parrots perch among flowering branches on a rich cobalt ground, framed by a striking black-and-white lattice border. Earthenware with hand-coloured transfer under glaze, approx. 11.5 x 7 in. Good display condition; allover crazing, underside staining, minor edge wear; no chips or cracks noted.
